Tonkin Consulting Office in Darwin

We’re very pleased to announce that Tonkin Consulting now has an office in Darwin. Already, a number of projects are underway, supported by our team in Adelaide. Sam McCarthy is the Office Manager, having previously worked as Tonkin Consulting’s Civil Site Engineer on an eighteen-month secondment to BHP Biliton at Roxby Downs in the state’s far north.
Sam joined Tonkin Consulting as a Graduate Engineer in 2005, having gained previous experience as a Student Engineer with Transport SA (now DTEI). |
Since that time, Sam has worked on a diverse range of engineering projects, some of which will be familiar. At Roxby Downs Sam was responsible for the civil works supervision on the accommodation and sub-division infrastructure projects. As a Project Manager, his responsibilities included overseeing the range of works undertaken as part of various contracts including development of spatial databases and asset systems, development of a road-resealing program and consulting services for miscellaneous civil infrastructure projects.
Sam also has considerable local government experience, including civil infrastructure projects undertaken for clients such as the District Council of Yankalilla, City of Unley, City of Salisbury, City of Prospect and District Council of Robe. As well, he has provided engineering solutions for a number of structural, wastewater and stormwater projects.
This broad range of experience, backed by our team in Adelaide, will ensure our Darwin Office is able to provide engineering solutions in support of the rapid growth of Australia’s “top end”.
