Roxby Infrastructure – Township and Mine

BHP Billiton has engaged the Practice to undertake extensive residential and infrastructure design work for the Olympic Dam Project. The project scope includes the planning and design for:

• three separate residential land divisions in the town
• an extension to the single persons quarters (transportable), with associated roadways, sewage, power infrastructure
• extension of the town’s service industrial estate
• 2- and 3-bedroom apartments with private recreation facilities and landscaping
• energy-efficient housing on the first of the three subdivisions
• stormwater management and assessments.

Tonkin Consulting has provided an experienced civil engineer on site at Roxby Downs to work as a member of the Construction Management Team that BHP Billiton has established on site to control and oversee the implementation of the various accommodation projects.
