Mawson Connector
A major achievement for 2006 has been the completion of the design and construct project, the Elder Smith Road and Mawson Public Transport Interchange, undertaken with Bardavcol for the Department for Transport, Energy and Infrastructure.
This significant project delivers on the South Australian Government Strategic Plan, encompassing enhanced road safety and increased use of public transport. The Mawson Interchange utilises leading technology and design features, setting a new standard for public transport interchanges in South Australia.
Involving several disciplines within the Practice, the project comprised two major components – a new connector road (Elder Smith Road) from Salisbury Highway to Main Street, Mawson Lakes and a bus and train public transport interchange. In addition, significant drainage works were required, including the realignment of Bennet Creek and the Airport West Drainage Channel.
