The Electrolux manufacturing site was redeveloped into an industrial land division. Tonkin Consulting did the feasibility inspection in 2010, began the concept design phase in 2011 and subsequent detailed design, with construction completed in 2013.
The kerb was realigned at the Pope Street/Port Road intersection to allow B-double vehicles access to the development.
All services (water, sewer, Telstra, gas, power and stormwater) were either relocated or terminated throughout the site.
Due to the relatively flat nature of the area, there were issues with the gravity services and the site being flood prone. The earthworks model was developed to minimise the fill that was imported while ensuring minimum site levels were maintained.
