In partnership with Hemisphere Design and the City of Salisbury, Tonkin Consulting delivered the award winning, signature “Places for People Project – the Salisbury Town Square”, where cultural identity was expressed in the imaginative layout of paving and planting.
The Square acknowledged and celebrated the life of Dr Ruby Davy, a Salisbury resident and Australian first female Doctorate in Music, through paving patterns and motifs which underpinned the design outcomes. Detailed design drawings were prepared for all aspects of the project. The project involved considerable liaison and consultation between the Urban Design Team and stakeholders including Arts SA which commissioned a public art feature for the Square.
Tonkin Consulting was the civil designer for the project and also coordinated the construction work on behalf of the client.
