Student Experience

Student placements at Tonkin provide supervised hands-on experience in a multi-disciplinary consulting engineering firm, working within highly interactive project teams, to which students are assigned according to areas of interest and available projects. Work placements and work experience enable students to gain experience in a highly supportive environment within an organisation which embraces its employees as individuals.

University placements are paid roles offered to students completing their final year of study (usually of 12 week duration).

Summer placements commence in December, with interviews and selection completed around August each year. Applications will be actively sought around the selection period, but will also be accepted at any time, and should comprise a cover letter, CV and copy of academic transcript. Those successfully completing a placement at Tonkin will be highly regarded for selection in the graduate program.

School student work experience is also occasionally available for selected students by personal application.
