This week, we're celebrating Jeff Tyler, who marks an incredible 30 years of service at Tonkin. Jeff joined the company in 1995 as a Graduate Engineer and now serves as Principal Engineer in our water team.
Over the years, Jeff has shown unwavering passion and dedication to the water sector. In 2024, his expertise and contributions were recognised when he was awarded the Premier’s Water Medal: Water Professional of the Year.
Throughout his career, Jeff has held various roles, gaining invaluable experience across numerous projects both in South Australia and across the country. In addition to his technical leadership, Jeff is currently an Executive Director on the Tonkin board, where he shares his wealth of knowledge and plays a key role in shaping the future of the company.
Known for his strong commercial focus and pragmatic approach, Jeff consistently delivers successful outcomes on the projects he oversees. His visionary leadership, paired with his approachable style, has driven positive change within Tonkin and the broader water sector. Jeff’s influence is felt throughout the company, and he’s greatly valued by staff at all levels.
Jeff has been instrumental in a range of high-profile projects, including the Eyre Peninsula Desalination Plant, the Milewa Pump Station, the Northern Adelaide Irrigation Scheme, and the Marion Bay Sands Land Development, among many others.
We thank Jeff for his continued vision, dedication, and professionalism. His contributions to Tonkin are immeasurable, and we’re grateful for the knowledge and expertise he shares with all of us.
