Tonkin's New Board Members

We are pleased to announce Tonkin’s new Board Chair, Hon Karlene Maywald, and Non-executive Director, Tania Sulan.

Karlene brings deep expertise in water governance, policy reform and strategic leadership to her role as Chair of Tonkin’s Board. A former South Australian Cabinet Minister and Chair of Australia’s National Water Commission, Karlene has led some of the nation’s most significant water reforms. She is currently South Australia’s Water Ambassador and Managing Director of Maywald Consultants. She holds senior board roles including Chair of WaterAid Australia and the Cooperative Research Centre for Solving Antimicrobial Resistance in Agriculture, Food and the Environment, and she is also a Trustee of WaterAid International.

Tania is an experienced lawyer and company director with extensive leadership expertise in legal services and legal investment management, governance, and strategy. Tania is currently the Director - Strategy and Partnerships at the Legal Services Commission of South Australia, having previously worked for Omni Bridgeway Limited in a number of executive roles in both Australia and Canada. She serves on multiple boards, investment committees and has history of volunteer work with legal and community organisations.
