Tonkin’s service offering in Queensland has recently gained a significant boost with six experienced engineers and technical officers joining the company’s Brisbane and Maroochydore offices.
The expansion provides an opportunity for Tonkin to deliver a greater range of services to the Queensland infrastructure, property and development markets. Complementing the services currently provided by the company’s Queensland team, the expansion aligns with company’s national growth strategy.
Collectively, the new staff members bring more than 60 years’ experience working across structural and civil engineering and design. The new team, most of whom have worked together previously, will work closely with Tonkin’s existing Brisbane and Maroochydore staff, whilst also leveraging the structural expertise of the business’s team in Sydney. Together, the teams will focus on continuing to grow Tonkin’s service offerings in South East Queensland.
The Queensland expansion builds on Tonkin’s solid growth across Australia in recent years, which includes the acquisition of Sydney structural engineering firm, TLB Engineers, in 2018.
Reflecting on joining Tonkin, Principal Engineer Tom Oliver said:
“It is a pleasure to be onboard with Tonkin. The leadership team, and the wider national team have provided a warm welcome for myself and my teammates.
With our previous experience extending across several engineering disciplines and a range of project types, we are looking forward to delivering dependable, multi-disciplinary engineering services for Tonkin’s clients, across Queensland and beyond.”
Tonkin’s CEO, Gerry Doyle said:
“Growing our Queensland service offering represents an important step in the ongoing national expansion of our business. This move is part of our business growth strategy to broaden the technical expertise and service offering we provide to our clients.
Our new Queensland staff are a welcome addition to our growing team who are working with our clients around Australia to build exceptional outcomes together.”
The expansion gives Tonkin a significant boost in Queensland, adding to its offices in South Australia, New South Wales and Victoria.
