Tonkin has wrapped up it's inaugural Leadership Development Program, with the first face to face session being held to close out the first two years of running the program.

Recently, Tonkin wrapped up our Leadership Development Program, with the 2020/21 and 2021/22 cohorts coming together for the final session from the 12-month program. Participants also had the opportunity to share their key learnings and provide feedback so that the program continues to improve and evolve with each new cohort. In this final session, people were asked to pitch a business idea or initiative they would like to see brought into the organisation, with suggestions ranging from technical solutions to improve project delivery, through to strengthening collaboration across the team and continuing to highlight the importance of mental health in the workplace.
The Tonkin Leadership Development Program is a 12-month program - exposing the participants to key elements of leadership as well as tailored activities to build self-awareness. Each year, a number of participants take part in the program – targeting both senior and emerging/future leaders across the business. The program is about to launch its third cohort, with participants starting the program with a 360-degree review and personality profiling.
The program covers both technical and non-technical aspects of leadership in the professional services industry, discussed in monthly workshops, and matches all participants with a coach over the 12-month period. Each element of the program has been carefully designed to equip the participants with practical, tangible and valuable tools to strengthen their leadership capability.
This program is another example of Tonkin’s genuine commitment to staff development and – more broadly – the culture of learning that has been fostered across the organisation. Feedback from the recent wrap-up session revealed that participants greatly enjoyed the opportunity to self-reflect, a luxury that is not always available in today’s demanding and hectic world. Participants shared that they have been able to draw on and apply the lessons learned during the workshops and that the program is hugely valuable for all who have the chance to take part.
