James has several years experience as a professional Civil Engineer in local government, road and traffic engineering, road safety, lighting, and project management. In particular, he is passionate about road safety, active transport, urban planning, and traffic management.
James is an experienced traffic engineering practitioner and has gained accreditation with the Department of Infrastructure and Transport as a Road Safety Auditor and Safe Systems Assessor. He has a long association with the Australian Institute of Traffic Planning and Management, and in 2023 he was appointed as a director of the organisation.
